Welcome!
So, folks, I’m starting a family blog. You know all of those long, only not annoying because you’re family, mass e-mails we all get? Well, they’ve served their purpose, way back when e-mail was first invented! (For those who remember such a time) But that time has passed. From now on, says M. Henderson, Reno local and social media expert, if you send an email to more than 3 people with the same last name, you should be blogging.
So…here’s where we post updates, cool websites (with commentary), interesting newspaper articles, hikes, climes, ballets, toilet replacements, school projects, winning hits, cool trips, boyfriends (wait, scratch that), and random yet insightful observations. That way we can all keep posted in a more frequent yet informal way. There is a free flickr account associated with this page (just click on any picture, and you’re there) and also a skype account. (So you can compliment the informal nature of blogging with the more refined aspect of videoconferencing.)
If you frequent the blog-o-sphere, you may be aware that the structure of a blog post is bound by a few…lets call them…guidelines. These are more like a “suggested donations” of a certain amount. Giving more or less doesn’t make you better or worse, it just evens everything out. They are as follows.
1) Just like this post, only opposite, brevity is our friend.
2) I have it on good authority that correct spelling or grammar is of no consequence in the blog-o-sphere. Just communicate effectively.
3) Everyone is required to make an initial post of introduction. Follow up is optional, but participations is directly related to next year’s Christmas presents.
4) Post pictures liberally.
5) More rulesImean guidelines may be added as their need arises.
So here goes. Mike has unknowingly agreed to start the first one. If you have a comment related to his post, leave it as a comment, so that we can read it as one stream of conversation. Post pictures…they’re interesting. Youtube rules as well. If you need some ideas to get you started, to the left under “Blog Roll” are links to a few blogs that I frequent. Feel free to add a few of your favorites as well…the internet’s a big place.
Love you all and happy blogging!
